I just read a post over at Doulogos that was very true and motivating, concerning our relationship with the Lord and the effect it has on our prayer life. It's certainly a matter I need to deal with in my own life. Here are a few excerpts:
God doesn't answer prayers because your faith is greater than the guy beside you - he answers prayers because you are in communion with him through your continued willingness to obey....
God doesn't demand perfection as a prerequisite to communion - but He is rightly aloof from those too proud or lazy to continue in obedience.

Thanks for the recommendation! That article is deep. I love how honest and to-the-point that guy is! Another excerpt that jumped out at me was...
"It isn't the mega-faith that receives answered prayers - but the obedient faith. Faith only grows when it is rewarded, and only obedient faith is rewarded. The math is simple enough."
So well said. It is a matter that I too need to deal with. Thanks so much for sharing that link! I love that guy's thoughts!
By the way, the link you have on this post doesn't work right. I think it has two "http://"'s on it..
God bless you!
Thanks for correction on the URL. I've got it fixed now!
Glad to know there is more on the way.
I'm looking forward to hearing more on MX! I was there about five years ago on a week long mission trip, and I consider that time very instrumental in turning my heart towards missions. Many of the things which you have mentioned are very famliar.
I received the cd today! Thank you VERY much! My family and myself are enjoying it very much. You all did a wonderful job. The qualitie and heartfeltness is very much appreciated! This is one we're going to be passing around!
Oh, I meant to ask as well, who is playing the piano on the cd?
Wow, several visitors to Mexico on this blog! ;)
My older brother Ken plays the piano on the CD. He also arranged all the music. You can read more details inside the front insert.
I'm glad you like it, and we give all glory to God for His grace in giving us the talents and means to serve the gospel and His saints with this CD.
Repentance is an ongoing thing, sometimes we get comfortable just "being a christian" and our repentance starts to slip - that's a nice way of saying we grow cold I suppose, but the end result is the same, we stop turning to God with our hearts and begin act upon the unspoken truth - "I will not have God rule over me" - which is understandably crippling for prayer.
Thanks again for visiting my blog!
Oh and Thanks for the link too!
